It's officially spooky season so this week we dive into a spotlight on the ominously named - Dead man's finger! A type of soft coral that is actually a colony of individual small animals that share a gelatinous skeleton!

They grow on hard surfaces down to depths of 50m and cover large areas of rocky outcrops and gullies. The colonies grow upwards like fingers - giving them their spooky name!

What's your favourite sea life to see on a dive in Scotland? Maybe it'll feature in the next #SeaLifeSpotlight 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
